May 16, 2025 | 4.00 – 5.00pm
by Danielle O’Leary, Phillip O’Brien & Byron Haast

Join the authors of Good Humanities for a practical and engaging webinar exploring how the updated Victorian Curriculum 2.0 is shaping Humanities classrooms—and how the Good Humanities series has evolved to meet the moment. We’ll walk you through the key curriculum changes and what they mean for your teaching. You’ll see how Good Humanities supports these changes through explicit links to inquiry-based learning, expanded “how-to” skill sections, and practical strategies for building students’ understanding across all strands. With a strong focus on critical thinking, ethical understanding, and student voice, the new edition of Good Humanities is designed to make implementation of Curriculum 2.0 both
seamless and inspiring. Whether you're new to the curriculum or looking for fresh ways to engage your students, this webinar will provide hands-
on ideas and insights directly from the people who wrote the book. Walk away with tools you can use tomorrow—and a clearer view of what good Humanities teaching looks like today.

Teaching Geography for the non-geography trained teacher.

June 3, 2025 | 4.00 – 5.00pm
by Danielle O’Leary

Did you know? Almost one in two Australian Geography teachers held a major qualification in a field other than Geography (Kriewaldt, J. & Lee, S.J., 2022). If that’s you, you’re in great company and with the right support, great teaching is absolutely within reach. Join our Geography co-author for a practical, curriculum-focused session that shows how the textbook has been purposefully designed to make teaching Geography clearer, more engaging, and more achievable. You’ll explore how each chapter is built around structured geographical inquiry, with step-by-step skills development, relevant case studies, and the meaningful inclusion of
authentic First Nations histories, perspectives and knowledges. Whether you’re out-of-field, early in your career, or simply seeking a clearer path through the new VC 2.0, this webinar will give you practical strategies and the confidence to lead your students to success.

Teaching History one step at a time. Developmental learning.

July 29, 2025 | 4.00 – 5.00pm
by Ben Lawless

What if students could track their own progress in Humanities, and teachers could plan for growth, not just coverage?
This session unpacks how developmental thinking can make
learning clearer, more purposeful and easier to differentiate.
We’ll explore a model that brings skills and knowledge together, uses
student-friendly language, and supports learning from multiple entry
points. Along the way, we’ll highlight key shifts between the old Victorian
Curriculum and Version 2.0, and how those changes affect what and how
we teach. These ideas come to life in Good Humanities 2ed, which now includes updated rubrics, simplified How-to sections and carefully structured questions to support progression.

Teaching First Nations content in the Humanities classroom.

August 4, 2025 | 4.00 – 5.00pm
by Dr. Alyeryk Fricker

In the contemporary Australian schooling system there has been a growing focus on the inclusion of quality resources in the classroom focused on First Nations content. One of the barriers to the implementation of these resources has been a lack of confidence in teachers which has resulted in an 'opting out' from these important topics. This session will focus both on the important First Nations content contained within the Good Humanities series of textbooks which has been authored in partnership with First Nations stakeholders and experts, as well as providing some tips and tricks to engage with First Nations content confidently to enable teachers and students to succeed in this area.
