Author Information

Markus Zusak was born in Sydney in 1975. His first book, The Underdog, has been critically acclaimed in Australia and is now being published in Europe and translated into several languages. He has followed up this success with Fighting Ruben Wolfe, which has been published in the USA, UK and also throughout Europe, and has earned him a number of award nominations in Australia. When Dogs Cry has been published here and will be published in the US in 2003, and was shortlisted for the Children's Book Council Book of the Year Award.

Markus lives in Sydney, where he writes, occasionally works in a real job, and plays in a football team that never wins.
